Maple producer information and resources
If you are a maple syrup producer, with 10 taps or 10,000 taps (or even more) then welcome to the producers section of the Lanark and District Maple Syrup Producers Association web site. Whether you are an OMSPA member or not, this website provides information on the latest news and developments, as well as access to our classified section. For those interested in buying or selling maple related items, see our Maple Equipment Classifieds page. For full access to the members section, please consider becoming a full member of our association, go to the Membership Application page for more information.
Producing maple syrup presents a lot of challenges - everything from woodlot management to sap collection, to processing, and to the marketing and sales end of the business – all require the producer to deal with a multitude of decisions that affect the success of the enterprise. There are lots of good sources of information available, such as the North American Maple Syrup Producers Manual and a number of web sites which provide a wealth of information for both the beginning and seasoned producer. We are not attempting to duplicate any of that useful information here; but we will try to point you in the right direction and provide information of some of the new developments that may impact your operation.
Come back and visit this section regularly, as we will be posting
new information of interest to all producers on a regular basis.
Members should log into the Members
Only section to access more detailed information on some of
the issues referenced above, and to view more detailed information
on OMSPA related events and activities.
